iPhone Duo

iPhone Duo — The First Foldable iPhone

Apple has spent more than a decade filing patents on a folding iPhone. This is it. Open, the iPhone Duo has the largest display Apple has ever put on a phone — 7.6 inches, half again the size of the iPhone 18 Pro Max — and it is the thinnest iPhone ever made. Closed, the 5.4-inch outer screen carries more than ninety percent of the screen area of an iPhone 18 Pro, so it works as an ordinary phone in your pocket.

Apple's new CEO called it the most transformational change to iPhone since the original. That is marketing language, but the shape of the thing is genuinely different: two usable devices in one, with iOS 27 rebuilt to move between them.

Two apps at once, finally

Split View brings side-by-side multitasking to iPhone for the first time. Open Safari next to Mail, run two windows of the same app, or hold a conversation with Siri AI while reading something on the other half of the screen. App pairs can be saved and reopened together. Netflix, Zoom and Slack were ready for the larger display at launch.

Pro performance, folded

The A20 Pro is the same chip as the iPhone 18 Pro, paired here with a new thermal system that delivers up to thirty-five percent better sustained performance than the iPhone 17 Pro. That matters most in long sessions — gaming, editing, exporting — where other phones slow down as they heat up.

Battery built around the fold

A dual-battery system, an iPhone first, uses the space the folding design creates. Combined with the new C2 modem, it reaches up to 31 hours of video playback on the inner display and up to 44 hours on the outer one. Fast wired charging gets you to fifty percent in around twenty minutes.

Cameras that use the hinge

A 48MP Dual Fusion system covers the main shots, with the same 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide as the iPhone 18 Pro for wide scenes and macro work. The Center Stage front camera shoots in any orientation, so landscape selfies need no rotating. A second FaceTime camera sits beneath the inner display for calls with the phone propped open on a table.
